Vitamin C Serums for Skin: Q & A

Vitamin C serum uses for skin FAQ

Who should use Vitamin C Serum?

Everyone who lives, works and plays under the Australian sun should use vitamin C serum every day, especially through the summer months! Our vitamin C serum is a stable and non irritating formula suitable for all skin types including sensitive skin, eczema, rosacea and acne. Highly recommended for mature skin & sun damaged skin.

What is Vitamin C good for on your face?

Vitamin C used on skin is very well studied as a 'healthy aging' skincare ingredient (we don't use or like the term anti-aging).  Vitamin C helps to increase the production of essential antioxidants in your skin.

When to apply Vitamin C Serum?

Apply after cleansing, while your skin is slightly damp. We recommend applying after our Probiotic Toners with Niacinamide (vitamin B3).

Can I use Vitamin C day and night?

Yes, you can use both Vitamin C serum with or without Bakuchiol morning and evening.

Should you use Vitamin C everyday?

We recommend applying vitamin C every day until you've achieved the results you're after with your skin (it can take up to 12 weeks to see best results from Vitamin C serum). You can then move up to a higher strength of vitamin C and use just a few times a week.

Should I apply Vitamin C serum before or after moisturiser?

Our vitamin C serums double up as a serum and moisturiser. If your skin is very dry, you can apply your moisturiser after the Vitamin C Serum has absorbed into your skin.

When to apply Vitamin C serum and retinol?

Our vitamin C serum is a non irritating formula and can be used in addition to retinol. You can also use Vitamin C + 1% Bakuchiol with retinol. We recommend using vitamin C with or without Bakuchiol in the morning and retinol at night.

Is Vitamin C serum sticky?

Some vitamin C serums can leave a sticky or tacky feeling to your skin, ours does not.  It soaks into your skin leaving it moisturised, hydrated and soft to touch.

Can you put makeup over Vitamin C serum?

Yes, thanks to their high squalane content (olive derived, NOT from shark livers), our Vitamin C serums make the perfect make up primer.

Can Vitamin C serum be applied under eyes?

Yes, our Vitamin C serums are safe to use around the eye area as they contain no preservatives or fragrances.

Can you use Niacinamide with Vitamin C?

Yes, we recommend using Vitamin C together with Niacinamide (vitamin B3). Niacinamide is a water soluble ingredient and we use a more stable, oil soluble version of vitamin C. We don't combine oil and water soluble ingredients as we believe that emulsifiers, used to combine oil and water, are damaging to the skin's barrier. We have added Niacinamide to our Probiotic Toners which can be used before applying your serum.

Vitamin C serum turning skin orange?

Poorly formulated or oxidised vitamin C serums can turn your skin orange (like a bad fake tan). Water soluble ascorbic acid is much more prone to oxidising in the bottle AND on your skin! We use a stable, oil soluble version of vitamin C (tetrahexyldecyl ascorbate) which is absorbed quickly into your skin & won't sit on the surface to oxidise and turn your skin orange.

I continue to use the vitamin C Serum at the 20% level and the Calming Probiotic Toner with 2% Niacinamide since I met Sarah at the Witta Markets about a month ago. I am totally happy with the results to date as the red patchy skin on my face has greatly reduced and I believe that with continued use I will be able to move onto a maintenance dose, Highly recommend these two products if if you are suffering with skin damaged skin such as I am currently…
