Healthy Skincare Ingredients
Our Healthy Skincare Ingredients
Less is more when it comes to ingredients for healthy skincare.
There are consequences resulting from applying a chemical poo storm of ingredients to your skin twice a day, every day for years on end. You only have to look at the sky rocketing rates of sensitive skin and conditions such as rosacea and peri-oral dermatitis.
All of these modern skin issues share a common driver – a damaged skin barrier and disrupted skin microbiome (the garden of bacteria and microbes that call your skin home). The end result is a dysregulated and cranky skin immune system creating inflammation and irritation. Inflamed skin is red, dry, sensitive, easily irritated and angry.
Common skincare ingredients including preservatives, fragrances and emulsifiers are not healthy for your skin.
They are convenient for skincare manufacturers in the same way that preservatives, flavourings & flavour enhancers, synthetic antioxidants, anti caking agents and other chemicals are convenient for food manufacturers producing processed junk foods. They are used to produce "food" with a long, stable shelf life but they do not nourish your body and sustain health in the same way as real foods. Skincare is no different.

Our Healthy Skin[care] range is formulated by our naturopath, nutritionist and herbalist, Sarah Luck to contain only ingredients that are

The healthy skincare ingredients we DO use
The healthy, skin friendly ingredients you’ll find in our skincare have been carefully hand selected by our resident naturopath and nutritionist.
As a general rule, we try to keep our Healthy Skin[care] ingredients to as little as 5 ingredients per product. Our hero ingredients are the only ingredients. We don’t try and green wash (or health wash) unhealthy or toxic ingredients using studies on isolated skin cells in petri dishes!
